Walnut & Mushroom Taco "Meat"
Walnut and Mushroom tacos are perfect for vegans who miss beef tacos. I had been seeing this recipe being made on YouTube and Pinterest, so I decided to make it for myself one day and fell in love with it. I normally make myself mushroom tacos because it is quick and easy. However, that recipe lacks protein. When walnuts are added to this recipe, it gives it an extra boost of protein. Walnut and mushroom tacos are filling and satisfying.
What You'll Need...
Mushrooms
Walnuts
Red Onions
Chili Powder
Black Pepper
Salt
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Red Pepper Flakes
Directions...
- Start By Soaking Walnuts Overnight. I Soak Them In Spring Water.
- Then Simply Drain Them In The Morning.
- Add Walnuts, Mushrooms, & Red Onions To A Blender Or Food Processor.
- Pulse The Walnuts, Mushrooms, & Red Onions. Be Careful Not To Over Blend.
- Add Olive Oil To A Skillet.
- Then Add In The Mushrooms & Walnuts.
- Add In Your Seasonings,
- Allow Your Taco "Meat" To Cook.
- Enjoy!
* In my opinion, soaking the walnuts overnight is a better option than letting them soak for an hour or two. I have tried soaking the walnuts overnight as well as soaking them for an hour and a half. I had a better result from soaking them overnight.
