DIY Avocado Mask For Damaged Curls
I have been on my natural hair care journey for many years now. One thing that scares me the most is getting heat damage. My goals are to retain length and to have my curls thriving. I recently blow-dried my hair on the lowest setting to clip my ends. When I went to revert my hair back to curly, I made a DIY avocado mask to ensure there wasn't any damage.
There are many ways to make an avocado hair mask. This is just the way I do it to cater to my high porosity type 3c/4a curls. I used avocado, of course, mayonnaise, one egg, and olive oil. When I make this mask, if I do not have mayonnaise available, I go for Greek yogurt. If you would like, you can add honey to this mask; sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. You can also add any type of oil you prefer; you don't have to use olive oil if your hair responds better to another oil.
What You'll Need...
One Avocado
A Few Scoops Of Mayonnaise Or Greek Yogurt
One Egg
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
Directions...
- Begin by adding your mayonnaise to a bowl.
- Next, add in the avocado.
- Add one egg.
- Then, add in your oil.
- Mix the mask well.
- Rinse the mask out thoroughly with cool water to avoid cooking the egg.
* How much of the ingredients you use depends on the thickness and length of your hair. *
