How To Increase Your Water Intake
Set A Goal
If you want to drink more water you have to decide how much water you want to consume daily. I set a goal to drink four standard-size water bottles daily. If I go over the four bottles then that is perfectly fine however four is my minimum. Every morning I remind myself that I have to drink four bottles of water before the day is over.
Drink Up First Thing In The Morning
It is normal to want to reach for coffee, tea, or orange juice first thing in the morning. Nonetheless, the first thing you consume in the morning should be water. Your body has went X amount of hours without water while you were sleeping. I like to drink a bottle of water before I drink anything else, it helps me to wake up and have one bottle down from my goal.
Have It With A Meal
Certainly, when you sit down to enjoy a meal you want juice, soda, or maybe even a glass of wine, but you should choose to drink water with one of your meals. The only beverage I consume with my dinner is water. Even if you decide to drink juice throughout the day limit your consumption to one glass only.
Drink Up After A Workout
When working out you need to be mindful of staying hydrated. Choosing to incorporate drinking water into your routine will help you increase your water intake. During my workouts, I take sips of water and when it is over I consume more to help me cool down and keep me hydrated.
Get An “All-Day” Bottle
Find a water bottle with a cool design and fill it up with water. Keep it with you throughout the day and drink from it. A gallon water bottle is the best for this method, but be sure that you are active enough to need a gallon of water.
