Ways To Reduce Estrogen Dominance

I dealt with estrogen dominance for many years. Every month when it was time for my menstrual cycle I was vomiting and in a lot of pain. I never did anything about it because I thought that was how my body worked. Some people have easy cycles and some have more difficult cycles, therefore I believed that is how it was supposed to be. As I got older it kept getting worse and unbearable. I couldn’t do anything or go anywhere, all I could do was lay in bed. Eating and simply drinking water was not even an option because I could not keep anything down. I didn’t look into what was going on with my body until my hair started shedding excessively. My hair was coming out in clumps from the root and my curls were not forming. Then I noticed how my stomach had a pouch that stuck out with a horizontal line of demarkation right under, which is a sign of estrogen dominance. Finally, I went to the doctor and she confirmed that I was dealing with estrogen dominance. I was prescribed birth control pills and it confused me because I thought birth control pills added estrogen but somehow they balance everything out. Eventually, I wanted to stop taking birth control and be more natural. I had to find a way to get my estrogen dominance in order because I could not deal with all of the things I had dealt with for many years. Since stopping birth control I have not been having any issues because I have been doing the following things…

Every morning I drink 2 cups (16 oz) of warm lemon water on an empty stomach or 2 Cups of warm water with 2 caps of Apple Cider Vinegar on an empty stomach.

In the afternoon I drink Green Tea, and sometimes I add lemon or a cap of Apple Cider Vinegar.

Before bed I drink Burdock Root Tea or Dandelion Root Tea, I alternate the days I drink these teas, I do not drink them on the same day.

Throughout the day I am drinking plenty of water. I love coffee but it is not good for those who deal with estrogen dominance therefore I cut it out as much as I can. Sometimes I do fall short and I do drink a cup.

I also cut back on soda and sugar-filled juice. If I do have any I only allow myself to have 1 cup (8 oz).

In addition to that, I have taken dairy out of my diet and I am a pescatarian. A lot of fruit and vegetables should be incorporated into your diet. I find with my pescatarian diet, the oiliness from my salmon intake is very good because it is anti-inflammatory.

Taking Vitamins is also essential and extremely beneficial.

I take...

Fish Oil
Magnesium
Evening Primrose Oil
Vitamin E

Before taking any supplements you should speak to your doctor first. My doctor was the first person I consulted with when I developed my plan to try natural solutions to my hormonal issues. I discovered it was not wise for me to take iron pills although through research I was told it would help me, however it wouldn’t have because I am not deficient in iron so I would have hurt myself, which is why speaking to a doctor is very important.

Eliminating stress is important and working out during the week will also be beneficial to balancing your hormones and gaining control over your estrogen dominance.
