How To Get Back On Track When You Are Unmotivated (Mental Health Check)

When you start feeling lazy and you begin to lack the ability to go for your goals try this...

Realize

In order to get back on track, you have to realize what got you off track. Is it fear of failing, is it fear of success, or are your interests just different now? Once you realize what got you off track you can get back on track by dealing with the issue. If you have a fear of failing then you should address why you feel that way. If you have a fear of being successful write down why you feel that way and what you can do to overcome it. Maybe your interests are different and if they have changed then you have to make a new set of goals and dreams to achieve.

Re-Evaluate

After you have found the root of your issue you need to re-evaluate what you want. If your dreams and goals have remained the same then you have to remind yourself of what you want to achieve and why you want to achieve it. Sometimes when we become unmotivated, we forget why we are working towards something. Ask yourself: What are my goals? Why do I want to achieve these goals? What steps am I going to take to make them happen?

Refocus

Now that you know what is holding you back and you have given yourself a refresher of what you are working towards it is time to refocus and get to work. It may be hard to jump right back into getting things done when you've been just lounging around or making other things a priority so making a to-do list for the week will help you out. First, you should start slow and then increase the workload as the week progresses.

Redo

Once you make it through the first three steps if you still find yourself not motivated I suggest starting over from the beginning because you may not be addressing the real issues that are making you feel unmotivated and also you may not be wanting to achieve certain goals for the right reasons which is causing you not to work towards anything. Take the time to discover what will get you back on track and help motivate you towards achieving your goals even if you have to keep writing it out and thinking about it all day and night.
