At Home Hot Oil Treatment To Rectify Dry Hair
Hot oil treatments work well for me because I have very dry high porosity hair that needs a lot of moisture and maintenance. To keep my hair from drying out while I wash it, I do a hot oil treatment before I cleanse my hair.
The Things You Will Need Are...
- Olive Oil
- Avocado Oil
- Grapeseed Oil
*How Much Oil You Will Use Depends On The Thickness Of Your Hair.*
- Disposable Plastic Cap
- Plastic Oil Bottle
- Wide Tooth Comb
- Water
- Bowl, Cup, Or Pot
Here Are The Steps To My Simple At Home Hot Oil Treatment...
I like to apply my hot oil treatment to dry hair, but it is totally up to you if you want to do your hot oil treatment on dry or damp hair.
1. Heat up some water and place it in a bowl or cup. Make sure the water is the right temperature because you don't want to melt your oil bottle, but you want to make sure the oil will get warm enough.
2. Section your hair however you choose so the oil can be evenly distributed.
3. Place the oil bottle into the water and allow the oil to heat up.
4. Begin to apply the oil to your scalp and work the excess through your hair.
5. Place a disposable plastic cap on and leave the oil in your hair for about thirty minutes.
- Sometimes I like to leave the oil in my hair for longer than thirty minutes to make sure my hair is receiving as much moisture as possible. However, when I am in a rush or busy, thirty minutes works for me.
Everyone's hair type is not the same; some may need more time, and some may need less time.
6. When the time is up, rinse the oil out.
7. Shampoo, condition, and deep condition your hair as you would normally do.
